Born in NW Ohio within 20 miles of the Michigan and Indiana borders, in a family of musicians, entrepreneurs and retail (electric, plumbing, res & comm.), I learned many skills not afforded many kids today. I attended The Defiance College and majored in Math and Music. Later receiving a Masters of Biology and Chemistry. Even though I’ve been a teacher for more than 45 years, I’ve also been involved in at least one additional business venture all those years – florist ( my own wedding business for 7 years), handyman (10 year business), educational consult and adjunct professor at several area colleges and universities. My teaching experience included a year in England on a Fullbritght Teacher Exchange, U of Maryland in Germany for the Military and then as an education specialist for the Museum of Natural History for the Smithsonian.
After deciding to retire in Fort Lauderdale – then what? I was convinced to be a realtor by another realtor. I can still remember arguing that I didn’t know anything about being a realtor – not true. Why? I found out it takes the same people and teaching skills as a good teacher to be a good Realtor. It doesn’t take a large leap of faith to see that my passion for teaching - my life - has carried over to the business of being a Realtor.
Being a volunteer for my church and as a teacher of country/western and ballroom dance fills the need of "giving back" to the community. Caring for my orchid collection and other gardening activities occupy my quiet time. My house in Oakland Park where I reside with my two 'kids' – Blanche, an Umbrella Cockatoo and Freddy, a Golden Conyer. You may have seen Blanche on my magnetic sign.
My three adult children and four grandkids are my pride and joy.
